Living in the Sound

We successfully made the trek from Spokane to the greater Olympia area last weekend. The Elks gave us a parting bit of advice, which was: "Wherever you are going, make sure to have the trailer parked by the time happy hour starts." This is wise advice to many different levels, first you'll be parked by happy hour and, if needed, you could have a stiff drink to relax from driving the rig all day. Secondly, you'll have plenty of daylight left in the day to get everything set up- sewer drain, electrical, leveling the trailer and getting the slides out, as well as unpacking all the fragile items from travel mode into a more user friendly and accessible position.

Unfortunately we were a little behind and it was 830 by the time we got settled in and everything unpacked.

On the plus side we are living in a wonderful RV resort.

Is the website if you want to check it out, because our cell phone pictures don't really do it justice.

This is the privately stocked lake that we have access to for fishing, swimming, and boating.

We also have a mini golf course, tennis and squash courts, a gym, heated pool and saunas and hiking all enclosed within this gated community. We are about ten minutes from Olympia, and ten minutes from Madigan Army Medical Center where Blair has started her surgical rotation.

This place has been wonderful this first week, hiking and exploring with Sammy while Blair is at work. We are also super excited because we are heading up to Seattle to spend the weekend with Jim and Laure before picking up Momma Monell at the airport on Sunday! The adventures continue, and we will blog again soon.

  1. Nice digs, sounds pretty posh living for RV life! Good Luck with surgery I hear that rotation is a bear (no pun intended ;) you're a smart cookie so I have no doubt you'll do well.
