This is something I've been waiting for since September. The Naked Lady Party. When it was first presented to me I was skeptical too. WTF is a Naked Lady Party? Turns out it is magical.
NLP is a clothing swap organized by some amazing girlfriends here in SLO where free clothes mixes with pie, alcohol, and some nudity to guarantee that everyone goes home feeling good. Here's the gist of it: a group of 10 or so gals each goes through their closet looking for clothes, accessories, jewelry (pretty much whatever) that they would normally give to the goodwill. These items are then brought to one central house, sorted, and then displayed for the taking. If there's a sweet coat that multiple people want, then there's a "battle" where each candidate tries on the outfit and makes a plea for why they deserve it. After observing everyone in the piece, those girls remaining out will decide who it goes to. Sounds pretty fair to me. At the end of the night, everyone walks away with a pile of "gently used" clothes and all other leftover items are taken to the goodwill.
I am stoked on this because a) I need clothes b) they're free clothes and c) quality girlfriend time rocks. Besides, I hate shopping so being able to try on outfits in someones living room with some rum eggnog and apple pie in my hand seems like a holiday dream come true. So bring on tomorrow - I can hardly wait!
